Clamper defines itself as a cutting-edge technological agent, with 3 well-established areas of research and development: distributed power, protection against electric disturbances and biometrics.
The Project Cell based on Polymer Ionic conductor fuel – a strategic alliance between Clamper and CEMIG (the power company of Minas Gerais) with the support of ANEEL (the national power agency) is the example of the most eloquent of the distributed power division. This initiative has since the year 2000, been developing electro-chemistry equipment, which generate electricity in a decentralized and distributed way, similar to a battery, but in a continuous way – whenever it is filled with fuel.
This project, which produces the first Brazilian prototype of fuel based cell from alcohol (ethanol), searches for a new solution for the foreseen difficulty in storing, transporting and cost of hydrogen gas. The Brazilian fuel is oxided directly inside the cells, which represents a great improvement world wise, once liquid fuel is used in this project.
The well-known environment benefits, together with the fact that the fuel based cells shall represent as the main technology in the future of distributed or decentralized power generation, motivated Clamper to research and develop such equipment.
At the same time, Clamper’s test laboratories, which dedicates itself to production research and development of devices against electric disturbances has exclusive equipment in Brazil. The test center counts on generators of electromagnetic disturbances, with capacity of generating high current pulses. The instruments test the products under similar situations of atmospheric discharges and are the key to guarantee Clamper’s quality standards.
All the simulation carried on the laboratory strictly follow all the current national and international standard practices which regulates anti surge protective device tests (electromagnetic compatibility).
Apart from proving the characteristics and efficiency of products, having the tests done in their own laboratories provides extra technical possibilities in order to develop new products and technologies.
The segment of research and development of technology applied to automatic biometric method of recognition of people based on physical characteristics (biometric devices) is strategic to the company.
In contrast to the identification through keys or smart cards, the biometric characteristics cannot be lost or stolen, and as a consequence cannot be used by illegitimate people.
Clamper, Nansen and individual shareholders founded the company Biometrus electronic Industry Plc. The company operates in the manufacturing, trading, import and export of electric control of biometric apparatus, informatics and professional automation (hardware, software). |
